As we geared up for Cecily and Justin’s Detroit Athletic Club wedding, I asked Cecily what the movie would be titled if one were to be made about their love story, she replied ‘PB&J.’ She continued by saying ‘not only because it is our go-to dinner when we are being extremely lazy, but also because I feel like we complement each other so well and make the best team.’ And that’s not all that is unique about this pair. Speaking of pairs… Justin once owned 100 pairs of shoes! Does anyone know another man who owns 100 pairs of shoes? I sure don’t. Justin worked for Nike for a bit and developed a sneaker obsession. You find in your scroll that Cecily gifted him a fresh pair of sneaks on their wedding day complete with their wedding date embroidered on them. Cecily comes packing a nearly fluent Italian tongue and even studied abroad in Florence. I hope the two of you find your way to Florence together!

Their style…

I don’t really know which came first, the color scheme and decor plan or the wedding invitation suite. But the wedding invitation is definitely the first and strong impression of how their style would unfold. Tasteful florals embellish the front of the invitation with the back of it being a solid navy. Paired with their reception table, the florals reflect each other perfectly with the table numbers a match to the invitation. And even the custom calligraphies macarons and menu folded into a navy tux napkin were perfect. Cecily pulled the sage color from the invite for the bridesmaid’s lovely floor length bridesmaid dresses. And you guessed it, the groom and groomsman wore navy. Wait until you see the installation at their indoor ceremony and Detroit Athletic Club wedding! All of it was pulled together by none other than Emerald City Designs!! They kill it every single time!
