I have been SO excited for this wedding day to arrive since the first conversation I shared with Molly. Their day is full of rich tradition, tight friendships, and close relationships with their family. From the first email, Molly’s kind words were touching and always full of compliments. When we made things official, I received a hand written letter in the mail from her mom, Nancy. I finally had the chance to meet Molly and Nancy a few weeks before the wedding to have lunch, get to know each other, and wrap up wedding day details.
Their story…
Molly and Christopher live out of town in Wisconsin making our meeting a bit challenging. And because Christopher is a full time med student, I didn’t get to meet him until the wedding day. Molly has a way of lighting up a room when she enters it. Her grace and beauty are captivating but her heart is so, so much prettier! Molly is always ready with a kind word. I watched their receiving line at church as she excitedly greeted every single guest with a big hug and a compliment. That, my friends, is a God given gift. It was easy to see just how smitten Christopher is with Molly, too. Before they exchanged vows, they met for a prayer at the Dearborn Inn. Without even laying eyes on her, he wept. We all cried. But not just for the sake of crying. Not just because Chris and Molly were emotional. I cried because they spent a few swift moments praying for each other and many, many more moments praying for their loved ones. That is selflessness at its finest. Selflessness is the true key to a happy marriage and I have no doubt that these two have a blissful life ahead.
The ceremony…
Molly is the third generation to be married at St Paul Lutheran church in Dearborn, Michigan. And they were married on the wedding anniversary of Christopher’s grandparents. They cried together as they lit their unity candle as a friend of theirs filled the church with her beautiful voice. Pastor asked Molly and Christopher to face their friends and family and create a memory of that very moment on the first day of their married life. They held onto each other and shed tears before everyone was asked to stretch their hands forward to pray for this sweet couple. They practically skipped down the aisle after being announced as husband and wife.
The party…
As their guests began to make their way into the ballroom, Christopher and Molly had a chance to see for themselves just how everything came together. Molly’s expression of sheer awe and surprise was so fun to watch unfold. That moment when the magic that they have been envisioning together came to life before their eyes. They were so excited to spend the rest of the night dancing and mingling with their friends and family. When those double doors opened up they DANCED into the room. Full out, ‘I’m so happy to be married’ dancing into the room. Speaking of dancing.. they shared their first dance together right away which was so romantic and sweet. For about a minute. Then… they busted into a choreographed number that got everyone on their feet. These two have so much energy and love for each other that you could feel it in the room.

my heart exploded and I shed tears multiple times on your wedding day. I might need to make a trip to visit the pair of you so we can dance the night away and enjoy some red wine together. Thank you for inviting me to join you on this journey with you. I am so excited to see where you faith and your relationship take you next. I adore you both!!! Happy honeymooning!!
