How they met…

Long before Randi and Matthew ever began to plan a Taubman Center wedding on the CCS campus they were teenage friends that became best friends and lovers. Matthew and Randi were teens who met at camp years before they would ever find themselves in a long-term relationship. Friends in 2008 that had a summer love in 2009 before finding their way back to each other in 2012. And so began the official start of their story together. Together, they attended Michigan State University. Go GREEN! Shared an apartment together in downotwn Detroit and now call home the ‘big blue house.’ They were engaged in November of 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic and that was AFTER a year of renovating a house together. If these two can survive remodels and pandemics together, they can survive anything. And it is no surprise after spending time with both of their families and having parents with a lot of married years under their belts.

Their style…

After almost two years of planning, Randi and Matthew had a truly incredible wedding day full of class, elegance, romance, lots of pure bliss and a touch of gold. I loved every detail from the acrylic ring box to Randi’s dress and to die for shoes, not to mention her reception sneakers. I also loved Matthew’s tux, florals, and even the table numbers were amazing all set against the backdrop of Detroit that they once called home.

I am so thrilled to have been part of such an epic day. Even if the bus didn’t have air conditioning and we got sprinkled on a bit. Annnd the traffic in Detroit as thousands of people descened upon downtown Detroit for a Kenny Chesney concert. Randi and Matthew were patient troopers that rolled with the punches while enjoying every second together before dancing the night away. Thank you for trusting me with your memories! xoxo – Kari
