Meadow Brook Hall Christmas Wedding in Rochester, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson, top-rated Rochester, Michigan wedding photographer, and her team.
Their story…
Megan and Jonathan met at MSU when they joined the same student organization. Their first post-graduation jobs would take them both to Washington DC where they quickly became friends. Together they explored the city, museums, and restaurants together while continuing to date other people. Eventually, Megan would make Jonathan a sucker for The Bachelor. And Jonathan would turn Megan into a sports fan. Law school took Jonathan back to Iowa where he grew up while Megan remained in DC and began their long-distance relationship. Jonathan finally made the move back to DC to join Megan until they got engaged in 2018. Megan grew up in Rochester, Michigan and worked at Meadow Brook Mansion from the age of 14 through her summers in college. So there was no question that Meadow Brook Hall would be the perfect backdrop for their wedding dreams.
Their style…
Jonathan and Megan have many, many things in common. Their closest friends and family will tell you how intentional they are about their travel home and making their loved ones a priority. From holidays to special occasions to celebrating new life with those near and dear to them. They always show up. Their love for history, the 20s, antiques, and art nouveau all found a perfect place into their wedding plans. Megan wore a wedding gown perfect for the occasion inspired from this time. She also wore a vintage pearl bracelet that she discovered that is almost 100 years old. Their unique guest book is an art nouveau classic. Pair of that magic with Meadow Brook’s magic of Christmas and they served up one spectacular party. The mansion is full of thousands of Christmas lights, over 50 trees, and no corner was left untouched. They spent the rest of the evening swing dancing to big band music and Christmas classics. And let me tell you how impressed I am that their guests all either already knew how to swing dance or learned just for the wedding. How fun is that?
Meg + Jon…
