When I arrived at the childhood home of Sarah, I was so excited to be greeted by her and all the lovely ladies all cozied up in matching flannel pajamas. Even the moms were wearing these cute jammies! As the mom of four daughters, I always love seeing how a connection and relationship plays out on a wedding day. Sarah and her mama and even her now mother-in-law share the sweetest bond which produced lots of happy tears throughout the day.

Pat and the guys were all hunkered down at the War Memorial as they wrapped up final touches to get ready for the day while the ladies ultimately ended up upstairs getting into their dresses. A classic black tux plus blush bridesmaid dresses, mix and match just the way I love it by the way, faux fur shawls, perfect unstructured florals, and the twinkle of Christmas lights created a dreamy and romantic War Memorial winter wedding.

My favorite moment was Pat’s speech at the reception that included so many thoughtful words and was full of gratitude. But I loved hearing him talk about seeing the cardinals in the tree moments before Sarah approached for their first look. Some people believe that when you see a cardinal that it represents a loved one who has passed. When you see one it means they are visiting you. Often when you miss them, need them most, or in times of celebration. ⁠⠀

As Pat stood on the pathway just outside the War Memorial waiting to see his bride for the first time on their wedding day, not one but two cardinals flew from the tree Pat was facing. Moments later, Sarah appeared and they shared a special moment, just the two of them. ⁠⠀
