The doors to the chapel were closed. The planning was complete and every detail was in place. Elizabeth was seconds away from the start of her Inn at St. Johns winter wedding with her groom, Alex. The bridesmaids and groomsman waited with Alex at the top of the aisle. Elizabeth, held onto her father’s arm then looked up and said ‘are you ready daddy?’ Elizabeth’s dad later told their wedding guests that he would remember that sweet moment forever. The doors swung open and Elizabeth made her way up the aisle. Courtney, Elizabeth’s sister (one of) and maid of honor was so cute and so attentive through out the ceremony. Elizabeth’s dress and veil were never out of place. Elizabeth was surrounded by her three sisters along with mom and dad while she prepared to see her groom. Each of them were fun-loving and attentive as they complimented Elizabeth all afternoon. I’m not sure I heard anyone utter Elizabeth by name but she was playfully called Bubba and Stinky. I don’t have any sisters in my immediate family and I truly can’t imagine what it would be like to be one of four. But, I do have four daughters and I can only hope that mine love each other so much and so openly as the Williams sisters do. I met Laura at Alex and Elizabeth’s Engagement Session but when my assistant/daughter and I met the rest of the girls we looked at the beautiful girls. Looked back at each other. Then back at the girls again. They all have the same gorgeous face! I have twins and I still was worried I would end up calling the girls by the wrong names. Never have I met a group of gals that are so loving toward each other, so connected with their parents, and truly friendly and welcoming as well. They complimented me through the afternoon and evening. That’s some great parenting!
Elizabeth and Alex shared a First Look which I always love. They had private time for just the pair of them and we had plenty of time to explore the hotel for portraits. And make quick dashes outside for a few minutes at a time. The sun was gorgeous! I couldn’t resist. The wedding party joined us along with their immediate families. I love when my couples have time to experience their wedding day and have the opportunity to share it with their friends and family. We didn’t rush. We had fun and enjoyed each other’s company. Well, the groomsman were a tough crowd at first but their portraits are fantastic. I dragged the whole bunch outside eventually. Thank you, guys for braving the winter weather. And thank you, ladies for also humoring me on the rock path. Though I do typically prefer to shoot portraits outdoors the Inn at St. Johns is beautiful to begin with but at Christmas it was beautiful. All their decor was done in shades of neutrals and gold which was the perfect backdrop for Alex and Elizabeth’s color palette. And wait until you see images of the Grotto! I wanted to take their Christmas trees home!
Alex’s family was equally as friendly and welcoming. After the toasts were given and dinner was served the dancing got underway. I had so much fun photographing Alex and Elizabeth’s friends and had the chance to photograph Mr and Mrs Blouin with many of their friends and family. We had a line at one point and it was so much fun to be surrounded by such happiness as everyone celebrated. Alex and Elizabeth are a delightful couple and it was easy to see how they became so after spending such a lovely day surrounded by those that love them most. Alex and Elizabeth, thank you for inviting me into your wedding day! I knew when you told me that your chance meeting with Alex was serendipitous that I was going to love you, Elizabeth! Thank you for being wonderful! And thank you the Williams and Blouin families for making Faith and I feel so welcome. Oh, and the dance floor was killer! I was tempted to stay. Merry Christmas to each of you! Safe travels, Alex and Elizabeth! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Alex Blouin!!
