Fall Planterra wedding in West Bloomfield, Michigan provided by top-rated Detroit wedding photographer Kari Dawson and her team.
Occasionally I meet a couple for the first time ON their actual wedding day. That was the case for Me with Meagan and Adam on the morning of their fall Planterra wedding this month. But after 22 months of ‘working together’ and social media interactions we already felt like old friends. Meagan has become my biggest fan girl and Adam is a groom after my own heart after he truly prioritized not only Meagan on their wedding day but his own experience as well. And who doesn’t love a groom in a custom made suit that matches the decor?
How they met..
Like many covid couples, Meagan and Adam learned that if they could quarantine together, they could do anything together. Their story began in 2018 though when Adam found Meagan’s Ok Cupid profile and commented on Meagan’s photo. A stroll through Prospect Park lead to dinner and so their life long adventure began. Together they learned to enjoy each other’s hobbies, travel together, adventure together, and foster furbabies together. One such foster lead to an adoption making them a family of three. And on November 21, 2021 Adam asked Meagan to be his wife in the very same location they first met. And because you all know I’m a huge sucker for serendipity I would be remiss if I didn’t mention they got engaged on my birthday.
Their style…
Adam and Meagan’s wedding day color palette is FUN. The bridesmaids wore a stunning copper floor length bridesmaid dress. Meagan’s wedding dress was absolutely perfect for her and I loved her getting ready gown and robe just as much. But it was the ‘wifey’ and ‘hubby’ sweatshirts that were my real favorite. The groomsman were all in classic black but Adam was looking so sharp in his custom made suit in a rich blue green tone. Planterra took these rich and very different colors and pulled them together with linens and florals to create the loveliest fall color vibes at the conservatory.
A few favorite moments…
It’s not totally uncommon for me to get chocked up on wedding days and Adam and Meagan’s day was no exception. Before we get to that though, I LOVED the champagne bottle poppers that Meagan had in her bridal suite. I am especially thankful she had two because even though I watched it pop through my lens it still managed to catch me completely off guard. I jumped out of my own skin and had a good chuckle at myself. Meagan shared a first look with her dad and the words he bestowed on his precious little girl were so heartfelt that everyone in the room was moved to tears. Meagan’s first look with Adam was just as emotional and precious. Tears of pure bliss were shed and shared before their pup Grayson came for a quick visit.
In closing…
No one was more excited about the wedding day than Adam and Meagan themselves. Witnessing their excitement, their love, and the connection to their friends and family was truly special. Their friends and family welcomed us with such warmth. And getting to meet their baby, Grayson was a so fun and I know meant the world to them both to share a snippet of their wedding day with their furbaby. Thank you, Adam and Meagan for trusting me with your precious memories!! xoxo – Kari
