I have been looking forward, all year, to Haley and Cody’s fall mitten wedding! These two are both born and raised Pigeon, Michigan residents and have known each other most of their lives. My own family spends every second of our downtime sitting around a campfire at our seasonal campsite up in the thumb. Soooo we’re also pretty partial to this particular part of our mitten state.

When first meeting Haley I discovered that she has an inner romantic that she is comfortable putting onto paper (in an email). But in person, she prefers to keep her emotions in check. This is precisely why everyone who knows and loves her was cooing as tears slid down her face during their wedding ceremony. Tears of joy were shed during her first look with Cody before the ceremony as well. That was one of the most touching moments I have shared with any couple.

While Haley and Cody grew up together, Cody just never made it onto Haley’s radar as teens. When Haley returned home from college, she told me home just didn’t feel like home anymore. She connected with Cody as he made her feel welcomed back into their home town. Interest was sparked. Today, Haley would tell you that CODY is home. And home is wherever Cody and their dear puppies are!

I know everyone loves their dog. Some more than others. Some A LOT more than others. The more you love your dog, the more I adore you. Haley takes the top spot! We popped into the kennel so that Haley and Cody could share a few minutes of their wedding day with their favorite boys. A few more tears were shed and it was the most precious thing I’ve ever seen.

You might think a small-town wedding would mean a small guest list but Haley and Cody stacked their wedding day with all of their favorite people. And when they learned that grandpa couldn’t get out for the ceremony, they went to grandpa instead. You ever want to cheer up a room full of people in a long term care facility… head for a visit in your wedding day best. Also, bring cake.

Haley and Cody, Elle and I had the very best day celebrating your love and your life together along with all of your favorite people! It has been a joy with you both every step of the way! Best wishes!! xoxo
