Pretty Details…
This classic Grosse Pointe War Memorial wedding exemplifies classic elegance with an old Hollywood feel that is very romantic. When I arrived at the Westin Book Cadillac Erica looked adorable. Her make-up was perfect, her wedding hair had begun and she wore the cutest white satin slippers and silk robe. Her twin sister, Elaina and the rest of the girls wore adorable black and cream matching pajamas as they waited to get their dresses on. The bridesmaid dresses Erica chose for her girls might be one of my favorites yet. Strapless, which looked great on every girl, in a champagne, almost gold, silk floor length taffeta. They’re gorgeous and classic. My jaw dropped when I saw Erica’s dress though. Erica’s dress is the perfect shade of cream. The bodice is fitted with a v-neckline and the most divine silver beading just under the bust. The back is all silver beading with crystal buttons and the waist drops into an a-line of lots of flowing layers. You have to see her veil and the beading! Erica’s classic jewelry and Badgley Mischka peep toe and beaded heels created the perfect combination.
Ceremony…
I have incredible luck with rain. It did pour on my way downtown but the rain stopped and stayed away the rest of the day. Erica reached out the morning of her wedding day a little nervous about the weather. I assured her I would be prepared with an armful of cute clear umbrellas but I was praying we didn’t need them. I love it when that happens and we even had sunshine. I saw Jason moments before the ceremony. His boutonniere was being pinned and he was clearly excited and ready. Erica was beaming as she made her way up the aisle with her dress gently cascading behind her. Jason was so excited to get to her, he began his descend down the steps before the music stopped. The warm breeze blew in off the water and before long they shared their first kiss and cheered back down the aisle.
Party…
The cocktail and reception area inside the War Memorial was draped in champagne linens. The tables were dressed with gold chargers, champagne napkins and gold satchels filled with chocolates. The soft cream florals sat upon and around mercury candle sticks and glassware. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling. The sun began set just as the introductions began. The warm sunshine, crystal chandeliers and glitter of candles made the whole room sparkle. And the joy emitting from Erica and Jason filled the room. After their sweet first dances, Lawton Lunce got the party started with a snowball. The wedding party had a few minutes to dance before they were charged with pulling a guest onto the dance floor and before long those guests were grabbing more guests. Such a fun way to get things started!
Erica and Jason’s is a love story that has been seven years in the making. I am so honored to have had the pleasure of being party of this extraordinary wedding for such a lovely couple. Have the BEST time on your honeymoon, Erica and Jason! Congratulations Mr + Mrs Kalo! Hugs
