I met Brianna and Phillip for their downtown Detroit engagement session recently and let me tell you how much fun we had actually frolicking around Detroit. They recently moved out of the Broderick Tower downtown so we of course had to get permission to shoot in their lobby for a few minutes. While they might live outside of the city limits now, downtown is still very important to them. With plenty of available light before the sunset and nowhere else to be we easily wandered for two hours, never running out of things to chat about and really creating a genuine connection. Their session has me so excited for their Lovett Hall wedding next year.

I am so obsessed with their classic style. Brianna first wore a twead dress with beautiful gem and pearl details that tied in perfectly with her heels and jewelry. Phillip of course was looking so dapper in his suit.

Their story…

Brianna and Phillip met in the 8th grade! Their love story officially began their junior year of high school. They shared two classes that year and Brianna gave it her best shot until Phillip relented and made her his girl. The real foundation was laid during their long distance undergrad creating solid communication skills while offering each other patience and figuring just who they are and want to be while navigating the long distance relationship. Together they are focused on building their careers and navigating life together as a couple. If you ask them what they love most about each other and their favorite things to do together Brianna would say she loves being challenged by Phillip, a date night at a fancy restaurant because they love trying new foods together, and she loves dreaming of their wedding day. Phillip would say his favorite thing about being engaged is seeing how happy it makes Brianna. He loves her determination when she decides to go for something. And he appreciates a quiet night in with pizza and ice cream. Brianna also shared with me that growing up together has made their relationship really special. They both appreciating having grown into who they are as individuals while being together for eight years. And with just under a year to go, they are so excited to get married!
