Details…

As I gathered Amber’s details before their Christmas Iroquois Club Wedding and began to visualize how to pull her details together photographically I noticed a serving tray that was clearly intended to be Minnie Mouse with a sunflower tucked on one ear. Some creative styling to include Amber’s bouquet instead of said sunflower and we had the perfect backdrop for Amber’s wedding day details. Amber later told me she made the tray making me even happier I decided to incorporate it.

How they met…

Amber and David were introduced to each other at a high school theatre after party courtesy of Amber’s best friend and made of honor, Caitlyn. I knew they were Disney fans; after eight years of dating David proposed to Amber next to Cinderella’s castle, after the Happily Ever After fireworks show at Walt Disney World. In 2019 they bought their first home and together they share an exuberant puppy named Samson. You might remember Sammy from their engagement session.

Everything came together…

I always love seeing how colors, micro decisions, DIY projects, and details all come together on a wedding day. The plaid flannel that Amber got ready in belonged to her father and it is the piece that brought all of the colors together. From the blues of their magical wedding day invitation which is a winter snow scene in the moonlight. To the bridesmaids and flower girls dresses which are a lovely cranberry and into the neutrals, golds, and pop of red in the floral and reception decor.

Amber and Caitlyn died and assembled all of the wood floral pieces individually for the florals on the cake, each boutonniere, and each bouquet. Each was delicate, perfect for the season, and turned out beautifully. My heart fluttered when Amber showed me her parasol hoping we could have some fun with it. It was perfect!! Portraits…

When I left my house the weather felt 40 degrees and sunny so I was very optimistic for the outdoor photos we have scheduled. In under one minute at the lake and Amber and David were chilled to the bone. The glowy sun was a gift and made out time out there worth it. Poor Amber’s teeth were chattering so much. We didn’t last the entire 45 minutes that we had slated but I am so glad we had the few minutes we did in the sun at their family beach before wrapping up photos at the Iroquois Club. The holiday decor really made their portraits their so cozy and intimate.

Just married…

David and Amber were married fireside inside the club surrounded by their loved ones before enjoying cocktail hour, dinner, their first dance as husband and wife, and a night full of dancing. It was a perfect day for a lovely couple who are completely smitten with each other even after all the years they have already shared together. I am honored to have chosen to be in their journey and to tell their story. Enjoy your honeymoon, love birds!!
