Addison Oaks cranberry and gray wedding in Leonard, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson, top-rated Romeo Michigan engagement and wedding photographer, and her team.
In the beginning…
Embarrassed, Angela and Doug laughed off the lead singer from the live entertainment at the restaurant where they shared their first date after she made a shocking confession. She told Doug and Angela that she was a psychic and asked if they were indeed on their first date. She then added ‘you’ll get married one day’. Can anyone else even image the immense pressure and sheer awkwardness that Doug and Angela must have experienced at that moment? Well, good news. They did get married!
Their style…
Doug and Angela shared an intimate wedding ceremony on the lawn outside of the Addison Oaks Buhl Estate last month. Neither of them was going to let a little drizzle get in the way of their outdoor wedding and I was a-ok with that! Angela did things differently than most brides in every good way possible. Instead of a strapless gown, she wore one with sleeves and a sexy neckline that gave way to the most beautiful beaded silhouette. She skipped the traditional veil and instead opted for a birdcage veil. It was worth every single second it took getting it perfect. No updo for Angela! She wore her hair down, pinned back on one side which ended up being not only stunning but classic and timeless.
The rest of the lovely ladies wore floor-length blush colored bridesmaid dresses. The guys all wore gray tuxedos and the cranberry vest and tie that Doug wore popped beautifully off of his tuxedo. Angela and Doug’s wedding offered the biggest statement of the season in the floral department with all the rich colors of fall. I didn’t see Angela’s shawl when she got ready earlier in the day so I completely swooned when I saw her come down the aisle wrapped in a blush colored shoulder duster. I mean, hello! Can a girl ever get enough pink in her life? I didn’t think so.
All the feels…
The ceremony, toasts, and first dances were all full of laughter, tears, and emotion. Doug and Angela’s day truly was such an honor to witness. Angela and Doug, thank you for inviting me into this small corner of your life. I have loved getting to know you both and look forward to keeping in touch and watching you continue to grow in love!! Hugs – Kari
