Their wedding…

Jared and Kylie’s wedding ceremony was outdoors at the edge of a hill that overlooks the lake that borders Oak Pointe Country Club. Kylie and Jared love the outdoors, cocktails on their patio, and boating specifically. Their wedding overlooking the lake was a perfect fit. The details were all neutral and classic with the guys in traditional black tuxedos and the bridesmaids dresses provided just a hint of color. Everyone kept all their fingers and toes crossed, praying the rain would hold off until after the ceremony and portraits. It was warm but I am so thrilled it remained dry.

One of the best toasts/stories I have heard to date was given last weekend by Kylie’s father. He talked about Kylie’s love for playing dress up. Everyone laughed about how bossy she was, even making her younger sister play the role of family pet. Kylie’s father described one particular day of playing make believe with Kylie playing the role of bride and her daddy, the groom. He tenderly said ‘one day you’ll have your very own groom’ which set Kylie into a fit of tears because the sweetheart truly thought she would marry daddy one day. Kylie’s dad quickly pronounced himself her first love and her first heart break which I just thought was one of the sweetest things I’ve ever heard.

But Kylie did get her prince charming after all. It is evident that Kylie’s father has a great sense of humor so it is no surprise that Kylie fell for a man who keeps the laughter rolling. Jared’s humor is easily my favorite thing about him and I love even more that he doesn’t take himself too seriously and he doesn’t even laugh at his own jokes. These two don’t just laugh together though. Their heartfelt and emotional vows displayed the depth of their love and connection.

Kylie and Jared, it’s no secret I couldn’t wait for your wedding day to arrive. I am honored to have been there to document your gorgeous wedding day and laugh and cry with you every step of the way.
