Grey and wine summer wedding at Petruzzellos in Troy provided by Kari Dawson, top-rated Metro Detroit wedding photographer, and her team.
One of my favorite things about sharing Mitch and Julie’s wedding day with them is Julie’s candor. There were several times throughout the day that my internal dialogue was thinking exactly what Julie was saying out loud. I also love that Julie intentionally took time to pause and notice the friends, family, details, and connects around her throughout the day. We were prepared for rain but ended up with a perfect afternoon and quiet evening. The bridesmaids wore the most gorgeous wine colored, floor length dresses. Their blush and cream rose floral bouquets popped against the rich color. Julie’s dress was a classic silhouette that looked perfect on her tiny frame. The lace sweetheart bodice gave way to an organza skirt and a beaded waistline made her dress even more special. I looooved her lace pointed-toe slip back heels that matched the lace on her dress. So stunning. Mitchell stayed classic also in a grey tux, grey vest, and black neckties. While things were changed up a bit for the groomsman with wine colored vests and pocket squares.
A couple of things gave us the ability for magical portraits. A first look always goes a long way to settle your nerves. And it extends the amount of time you have together for portraits. Beyond that, these two are naturals in front of the camera. They are so easy together. And they happen to be one of the most expressive couples I have had the pleasure to work with. So are their families which you’ll see further in the post. Their first look was a beautiful and emotional exchange with Mitchell and Julie both shedding a few tears. Notice their ceremony photos… a first look does not ruin your ceremony experience and the emotions that come with it. After the ceremony, we snuck back outside for a few ‘just married’ photos while we waited for their guests to migrate to cocktail hour.
Petruzzellos never looked so good. Of course, I’m partial to pink though. The walls were draped around the entire room. The chandeliers were accented with a soft uplight. The glow of candlelight and pink and cream roses made the space very inviting. I kept the reception photos PG but trust me when I tell you that their friends are also… expressive. We had so much fun on the dance floor!
Julie and Mitch, thank you for sharing your incredible day with my team and I. We loved sharing every moment with you and we all wish you an abundance of joy for a lifetime to come! Hugs – Kari
