Billy and Alyssa’s wedding pink and mint green outdoor Waldenwoods wedding was one of the most romantic and fulfilling weddings I have ever witnessed. The tables were draped in pink linens and the centers were filled with tons of gold bud vases and candelabras. The gold chargers were topped with mint green cloth napkins and finished off with a lovely stationary that displayed their menu. Wait until you see their cake. My favorite cake to date to photograph AND to eat. It was as delicious as it was beautiful. There were lots of subtle floral touches throughout the details: on the stationary and the bride and bridesmaids robes for instance. The bridesmaids wore a lovely floor length dress in a lovely sage color. Except for Lauren, Alyssa’s sister and maid of honor who wore my favorite shade of pink. And it looked stunning on her.

A few of my favorite things and moments…

Lots of favorites happened for me last weekend. Watching Alyssa during her final moments as she got ready is my new fave. When her make-up was finished, she sat at the edge of the chair she sat in and peered int he mirror. She looked just giddy and actually squealed a bit. Her dress was a stunning mermaid style with a lace overlay. Another favorite moment… after Alyssa was all zipped and buttoned in, she turned from side to side in the mirror and beamed. She gushed about how much she loved her dress. Brides! It’s OKAY to love how you look on your wedding day. It’s OKAY to be giddy about your wedding dress. And it’s OKAY to be excited to knock your groom on his butt with your gorgeousness.

The ceremony…

Alyssa appeared at the end of the aisle in the gorgeous setting sun and Billy pulled his hands to his face. His best friend and best man placed a supportive hand on his shoulder. Her dad lifted her veil and ushered her into her wedding ceremony. His speech later in the night had everyone laughing when he remembered the younger version of Billy long before he asked for Alyssa’s hand in marriage. Many of the friends and family cried during the ceremony. They might be the most cared for and tightly connected bunch of friends and family I have seen in a long time. And Billy and Alyssa don’t take any of them for granted.

The party…

During Lauren’s toast, her voice was shaky to start as she and Alyssa both held back tears. But when Lauren’s tears began to fall and she told Billy that she prayed for him. She prayed for a man to come into her sister’s life. Well, I lost it, too. And if you think that is a tender moment! Wait until I tell you what happened later in the middle of the dance floor. I spot an acoustic guitar out of the corner of my eye. Then two. Then a small drum and here comes Billy microphone in hand. Alyssa is seated in the middle of the dance floor with everyone she knows and loves gathered around her. Billy serenades her with Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud. I know, swoon.

Happy honeymoon…

I remember how easily I chatted with Billy and your sister Lauren, Alyssa when we met for your Engagement Session. I thought your nerves were adorable. I could see then how close you and Lauren are. And Billy’s devotion to you shines brightly. I shared a quote when I blogged your engagement session. It went… ‘I crave you in the most innocent form. I crave to say good night and give you forehead kisses and to say that I adore you when you feel at your worst. I crave you in ways where I just want to be next to you and nothing more or less.’ I share it again because it does a better job of articulating the beauty you share than I can.
