Dearborn Inn Marriott Hotel Wedding in Dearborn, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson, top rated Metro Detroit Wedding Photographer, and her team.
Their style…
If I were getting married in recent months, instead of 22 years ago, my personal wedding style would mimic Michelle’s pretty closely I think. Overall, everything about Michelle’s style was simple and classic to a t with just a hint of bling in the mix. Her makeup was dramatic in the most natural looking way possible. And done so well that her already great bone structure was made even more stunning. Michelle’s hair was elegantly pulled into my favorite kind of up-do. She made it her own with a beaded comb that was added before her veil was put in place. And the dress… I love a high neckline and simple fitted bodice. The bodice was trimmed on both sides, and waist, in this gorgeous beading that lead all the way around to the swooping open back. Michelle’s dress remained fitted until about her knee where it began to bloom around her feet. Add a timeless pearl drop earring, elegant pearl bracelet along with a classic pair of cream satin open toed Badgley Mischka heels and Michelle looked SO stunning!
More style…
I also love a black bridesmaid dress and these girls all looked so glamorous and gorgeous. Sam and his groomsman of course wore classic black tuxedos and bow ties. Sam’s gift to Michelle was quite sentimental. Sam’s mother has passed and he took a piece of jewelry that belonged to his mom and created a new unique piece for Michelle. While I didn’t get to see Sam open his gift from Michelle, I did get to see my second photographer, Jackie’s images. I laughed a little when I saw the note from Michelle to Sam that read ‘don’t be late’ to coordinate with the Shinola watch she had given him.
Their ceremony…
One of my favorite moments was seeing Michelle beaming at her father as he lead here down the aisle to the altar. Michelle’s bright smile was matched with Sam’s equally happy face to finally see his bride. There were so many quiet moments where Sam and Michelle exchanged a tender glance. Those soft expressions were the only moments the couple wasn’t either smiling or laughing throughout the ceremony.
Their party…
After portraits in the main lobby of the Dearborn Inn, where their style and the classic style of the hotel meshed perfectly together, the couple was ready for their grand introduction. I’ll just add that there a few places that serve as the perfect indoor option in case of bad weather in Michigan. I’m so thrilled we were at the Dearborn Inn because Michelle and Sam’s wedding day was a complete washout. After introductions Michelle and Sam shared their first dance then invited their parents, bridal party, and guests to join them on the dance floor. A wedding night wouldn’t be complete without some traditional circle dancing and why not a bit of karaoke? Sam, a little reluctantly, joined the band on stage for a couple of songs. Michelle’s reaction and Sam’s entertaining demeanor easily made that another favorite memory for me. I have no doubt the large dance floor remained packed all night. Sam and Michelle, thank you for inviting me into this lovely phase of your lives together. You both are humble to the core which is such an inspiration. I have enjoyed every second of this journey with you both. Hugs – Kari
