Oakland Hills Country Club wedding in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson, top rated Metro Detroit Engagement and Wedding photographer, and her team.
After seeing the weather forecast for Jesse and Casey’s wedding, I was still doing a happy dance. The Oakland Hills Country club in Bloomfield Hills is the very best case scenario for a rainy wedding day. The course itself of course is breathtaking. The back side of the building however is one very, very large two story covered porch. And the interior is equally as stunning. Casey spent the morning surrounded by a group of gals and woman that love her so fiercely. Casey was surrounded by all of her sisters along with her mom, step-mom, and soon to be mother in law. Every last one of them shed tears and shared laughter. Casey is the best big sister and it was such a joy to watch her effortlessly make them all feel so special throughout the day.
The Wedding…
The couple was married in the lovely Franklin Community Church before heading back to Oakland Hills for their couple portraits and cocktail hour. A lot of couples don’t set aside time for themselves on their wedding day. Jesse and Casey were ushered upstairs where they were served the appetizers they selected for their guests along with a celebratory cocktail. Downstairs, their guests mingled to the tunes of a string quartet. Before long the wedding party and couple were introduced and toasts began. After dinner, Mary Ann Productions kicked the party into high gear with the Casey and Jesse’s first dance. After Jesse danced with his mom he wrapped her into a big bear hug and fully lifted her off the ground. Casey and her step-father presented us with one of the most entertaining performances I have seen by a father/daughter duo. Casey’s dance with her father was an emotional one as he spun her around the dance floor. I fully enjoyed watching this large family laugh and connect together throughout the entire day.
Wanna hear about my fave moment…
Before I wrapped up for the evening, I was photographing everyone’s fierce dance moves while standing on a chair. Because.. well, I am quite vertically challenged. I heard a guest going on next to me, saying something about being my assistant. I was ready to roll my eyes before putting on a fake smile. But I was almost knocked off my chair when the sweet gentleman was standing nearly at eye level with me. I fell into a fit of laughter and let him know that he had just graced me with one of my favorite moments of the season. He replied with a ‘you’re welcome’ and went on his way. Thank you, sir for the fun reminder that I should never take myself too seriously.
Casey and Jesse, thank you so much for inviting me into this special time in your lives. I truly loved meeting your best friends and sweet families. Thank you, Mrs Abbatt for the sweetest kiss on the cheek before I left. You all really made us feel like one of the family. And yes, you all can throw one heck of a party! Enjoy a peak at my favorites! Hugs – Kari
