Join me on a photographic journey where love and nature intertwine during Emily and Rhett’s Stony Creek engagement photos. Stony Creek is a woodsy metro park in Washington, Michigan with access to open fields, wooded trails, and sparkling waters. In this sun-kissed paradise, we captured the essence of a beautiful couple’s love story. Painting a picture of their heartfelt connection against the backdrop of lush greenery, tranquil lakeshores, and the warmth of a summer’s ​sunset.

​Into the woods…

We began at the infamous pine trees that part, creating a stunning backdrop as the sun began to set behind the trees. ​The path we took next was dappled with sunlight filtering through the trees. The energetic vibe of the setting mimicked Emily and Rhett’s witty and flirtatious way of interacting together. The romance really amped up as I began to nestle this adorable couple in the flowering nearby trees. It was only a few moments but I love finding subtle ways, during your session and on your wedding day, to slow down. To pause just long enough to take each other in, close your eyes, and appreciate the smallest moment together.

Against t​he serenity of nature​, ​I witnessed the magic of love unfold. Hand in hand, ​Emily and Rhett wondered with my direction on a romantic journey, their laughter echoing through the ​open field. With each step, their ​confidence grew​, the awkwardness faded,​and ​I couldn’t help but be inspired by their genuine affection and the natural beauty surrounding them. From quaint ​paths to sun-dappled clearings, every corner of ​Stony Creek offered a ​magical scene to frame their love. With their new found confidence in place we now have the comfort and space required for their guard to fall. And, for me to capture every stolen glance, every giggle, and every snuggle with their pup.

​Along the lakeshore…

Eventually we made our way to the boat launch where they splashed along the lakeshore. We had a ton of fun at the boat launch posing editorially on the stacked kayaks after getting nestled into a row boat together. ​Their smiles convey​ing​ a ​story of two souls deeply intertwined, while the birds and rustling leaves ​provided the music.

As their​ ​session drew to a close, the park bathed in the soft hues of a ​fading ​sunset, ​we wrapped things up with final fur-baby snuggles and a barefoot meander back to our cars. As much as the engagement session is a relief to my couples that they have chosen the right photographer for them, I always leave feeling equally as sure and even more excited for the wedding day. Cheers to Emily and Rhett as they celebrate this season of being engaged. Let the official wedding day countdown at the classic and iconic Meadow Brook Hall begin!
