Getting ready…

Catherine is one of four girls. Having four daughters of my own, I always love spending the day with sisters and their mama. Joe and Catherine’s Greystone Golf Club wedding is no exception. Cat’s three sisters all stood by her side on her wedding day being the last of the sisters to marry. Her cousin was also a bridesmaid which also nudged my heart having no sisters of my own but growing up close to my older cousin who is the closest I’ll ever get to having a sis. Their emotions ran high as they watched Catherine appear from the room where she dressed. Her mom putting the final touches on Catherine’s dress. The girls helping with her shoes and jewelry.

Family…

At the church Joe was tucked away with his best men including his grandfather who was also honored with the role of groomsman. The importance of family to Joe and Catherine is evident not just in the family they chose for the wedding party. They have begun a tradition of cooking dinner every Saturday night for Catherine’s family. After the ceremony we also made a stop so that Catherine, her sisters, and cousins could see their 103 year old grandma. Grandma came to the door fully dressed for a wedding she could not attend in person which made the girl’s eyes leak with pride. Grandma is beautiful and sharp as a tack. I am honored to have met her, if only for a few short minutes.

Decor…

At the reception of their Greystone Golf Club wedding, the tables were draped in white and anchored with dusty blue died cheese cloth. The head table was draped in greenery and white roses from end to end. The guests table displayed a hooped adorned with florals, candles, and acrylic table numbers with a beautiful scroll font. Each setting was framed with a gold charger, menu, and an adorable vial of vanilla coffee as a thank you to their guests.

How they met…

Joe and Catherine are both thankful to Joe’s sister who after departing a job with Catherine circled back and asked if she would be interested in a blind date with her brother. Fate aligned and that blind date lead to their love story and wedding day. Cather and Joe, I wish you both many blessings for years to come. Keep a Christ centered marriage, each other second, while surrounded by the support of your loving families while deepening your love and commitment year after year.
