Spring Downtown Engagement Pictures

Like most couples, Leah + Bryant were a little nervous as we started shooting their spring downtown Chicago engagement session. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier spring afternoon as we got started at the Chicago Riverwalk near the Du Sable Bridge. If I’m being honest, it too me a minute to get my bearings, too. The perfect weather drew so many people to the Riverwalk and I got a little caught up in the buzz of the city. In Detroit the draw comes from sporting events, a few local festivals or events, and nightlife. If I schedule an engagement session on a Sunday morning in Detroit, it will be nearly desolate. Chicago is anything but desolate. There were families walking with strollers, people on bikes and skate boarders whizzed by. I was just fascinated by it all. We eventually pulled further and further away from the crowds and the noise as we walked down Michigan Avenue. The architecture in the city is simply stunning. The trees were beginning to bloom. And we had plenty of time to talk easily about family and the other aspects of life that make us who we are and bring happiness.

Spending time with Leah and Bryant you learn how tightly bound they are together in the way they talk about each other and in their actions. Leah has such a cheerful demeanor and you can see in the way Bryant looks at her that he is completely smitten. Family and close knit friends play an important role in their lives. They share a quietness about them and they feel wise beyond their years. They both listen more than they talk; a strong characteristic we could all stand to implement. They are a gracious and elegant couple full of kindness. I am so excited to be part of their wedding this winter. They have chosen Lovett Hall which is so true their style in its elegance and character. They are going to be such a striking and breathtaking couple which will only further enhance the beauty of Lovett Hall. And I can’t wait to meet their families that I have heard so much about.
