That romantic glow…

I am obsessed with the romantic glow of the soft summer sunset in Detroit for these gorgeous Belle Isle engagement photos with Kaleigh and Ben. These two are completely smitten with each other. Kaleigh is quirky in the BEST kind of way. And Ben just gobbles up her silliness. I am here to guide my couples through the awkwardness that can be engagement photos. My heart just leaps when one or both of you is so comfortable in front of the camera right away. When you naturally reveal the real you. But don’t worry, for those who don’t feel it right away, I promise you will quickly warm up. Before long everyone will feel very natural and comfortable in front the camera when you work with me.

It’s the little things…

Kaleigh and Ben found a way to personalize their session with little details. A red Shinola watch of Ben’s that was a gift from Kaleigh to honor being an Ohio State Buckeye. And one of Kaleigh’s favorite gifts from Ben is her pretzel pendant necklace because she is soon going to be a Wetzel. How stinking cute is that! Even better that Kaleigh, like me, will always be down for a pretzel. Plus a little champagne at the end against my favorite color pink… you know I’m a sucker for both.

Ben and Kaleigh originally connected on bumble in 2018 and after a few months of no contact found their way back to each other. They have been together ever since. She is spunky and bubble and he is relaxed and tall. And not just from my short perspective. She has seen almost every episode of Law and Order SVU three times. He wasn’t a fan of U of M long before he became a buckeye because he thought the colors were gross as a kid. Sorry to my U of M fans, but SAME. I’ll even add that I am not a fan of the new maize and blue Michigan license plates either. 😉 She loves his patience and all of the ring photos. He loves how caring she is and cowtails candy. He loves dinner and a good movie with his favorite. And her favorite date was Hibachi on their first anniversary followed by the ice cream they were supposed to have on their first date but never did.

I absolutely cannot wait to see how their wedding vision comes to life next year at the Community House in Birmingham. I can already tell the Community House is going to be the perfectly elegant backdrop for their personal style as they say ‘I do’.
