Navy, Rust and Gold Fall Planterra Wedding in West Bloomfield, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson, top-rated Detroit Wedding Photographer, and her team.
A Planterra Wedding…
A fall Planterra wedding is always a treat. A Planterra wedding at any time of the year is always a treat. Kayla and her mom came through with the vision for the wedding day and David and Planterra come through with the magic!
I am smitten with the rust-colored velvet linens that truly anchored the space. The linens were then dressed with glass and gold chargers topped with a folded mustard-colored velvet napkin. The luxury of the linens during the surf and turf meal was divine.
The florals were brilliant from the boutonnières to the bouquets for the ladies all the way through to the table centerpieces. Gold vintage vessels were used to build the arrangements that included vintage hydrangea, lush greenery, mustards, cranberries, and even a slight pop of color to keep it perfectly whimsical. Then the candle glow that can only be achieved at Planterra happens when each table is peppered with gold candelabras. This time hosting black candlesticks. I had the pleasure of working near the door as guests began to arrive. Each one of them was truly tickled and in awe of the space.
This stunning color palette and unstructured florals were fitting not only for the time of year but represented Kayla and Steve’s quirky personalities and sense of style perfectly. These two love their people very well and the love is returned to them in abundance.
Steve wanders into an establishment, rocking a sunburn, and orders a drink. He notices the lovely lady near him that smells like sunscreen and opens up a conversation about said sunscreen. Before leaving, Kayla the sunscreen lady wrote her phone number on a napkin. Steve pretended not to have a phone because he was embarrassed to be sporting an old school flip phone. The napkin and Kayla’s name and phone number were framed at the wedding. Steve pointed it out and told me he held onto it because ‘he just knew.’ A lot of couples have shared many stories with me and each unique story fills my heart. The details never get lost on me. And I never fail to see the magic in a serendipitous meeting.
