Lauren and Leif are planning their Michigan wedding while living and working in Chicago. When we talked engagement session, I was praying for an opportunity to present itself so that I could shoot it in Chicago. And voila! I was off to Chicago to shoot a wedding with one of my favorite wedding photographers and the stars aligned so that we could meet for a downtown Chicago engagement session. Mother nature did her best to cancel our time together but fortunately Lauren and Leif were brave and willing to deal with the risk of getting stormed on while battling Chicago’s traffic to get to me. I saw Chicago once in the winter with my husband and quicky fell in love. I enjoyed getting a glimpse of this fabulous city during a new season and a completely different set of circumstances. I love to travel and shoot in new locations and it’s important that my couples choose the location for their engagement sessions and connect on a personal level with that location. I don’t take for granted how blessed I am that Lauren and Leif got the location of their choice and I got to travel and tackle an entire new city.
