Courthouse micro wedding…

I’m excited to share the magical story of a courthouse micro wedding held at the historical courthouse in beautiful Lapeer, Michigan. In this intimate celebration, love and history intertwined as the couple said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends. Join us as we delve into the details of this charming couple and event, showcasing the timeless beauty of this historical location and the bond of this lovely couple.

About the couple…

Kristin and Tom met, as modern couples do, on a dating app. Kristin made the first move and it was Tom’s charming bio that encouraged her. They shared their first date at Parker’s Hilltop Brewery where Kristin found Tom chatting at the bar and laughing with an older couple. She knew then that Tom was a keeper. The remainder of that first date was full of the best things in life: conversation, laughter, beer, and live music. Together they discovered their mutual priority for family and the rest, as they say, is history.

Peanut…

Tom’s proposal to Kristin is my favorite story of theirs. After losing Kristin’s beloved dog, the couple put off getting another one for a while. So when Kristin was ready to adopt again she began to share photos with Tom of available pups. And one day, she discovers Peanut. Application submitted. Meet and greet – check. And even though they both adored Peanut, Kristin just wasn’t ready. Until that afternoon when she realized she did indeed want Peanut only to discover he had been adopted. A few days later, Kristin reluctantly got dressed for a family dinner at Tom’s parent’s house still feeling sad about Peanut. Upon arrival to Tom’s parent’s house Kristin realized that it was indeed TOM who adopted Peanut and surprised Kristin with Peanut AND a proposal.

Their wedding day…

I greeted Kristin and Tom when I arrived at the courthouse as they worked on final details before getting dressed. Tom in a pink button down covered in photos of Kristin! With them both dressed, I helped them each navigate to the front porch of the courthouse for their first look. We had a blast enjoying the sunshine and creating special moments for them on their wedding day. Soon, guests began to arrive and were ushered upstairs to the actual courtroom where Kristin and Tom would exchange vows and rings. Nicole, as always, shared a sweet ceremony for the couple, dotted with personal details, memories, and poems that fit weaved perfectly into their story. Soon after, their closest family and friends gathered outside the courthouse steps to celebrate the newlyweds with bubbles, cheer, and congratulations. After that, their honored guests looked on as the happy couple cut their cake and shared their first dance before enjoying a lovely evening of food, drinks, and music together.
