Last weekend I witnessed a magical and romantic winter wedding in Michigan! Christmas makes things magical and I was thrilled when I arrived at the Royal Park Hotel and it was wrapped in Christmas glory. All the ladies were buzzing in the hotel suite and making final preparations. It was chilly outside but beautiful light poured into the room. I met Matthew + Krystal’s baby girl at my initial consult with Krystal and again at their engagement session (here). I thought we were old friends but the pour girl still looked at me strangely. I kid. She’s too little to remember meeting a stranger twice. But, she was the star all day long. My favorite moments on wedding days are always the ones when those around me forget I’m there. I witnessed many tender moments of Matthew and Krystal with their beautiful daughter when they thought no one was looking. I loved the moments in between when Krystal would get lost in thought as she prepared. Those are authentic moments and my favorite images.

Even though Matt + Krystal shared a first look, Krystal met her groom, with her mom and baby girl on her arm, with tears in her eyes. Their ceremony was sweet and made sweeter because it was performed by a friend. The space was draped in sheer red and black fabric and a gorgeous crystal chandelier anchored the area where they said their vows. Krystal is unknowingly funny. Matthew has a very quiet presence but it’s clear he adores his girls. The entire day was truly romantic and I am so honored to have been part of it. Thank you, Krystal + Matt for inviting me into such a special moment in your lives.
