Their story and their session…
I thoroughly enjoyed my morning with Cynthia and Tom when we met for their Downtown Detroit summer engagement photos recently. Cynthia’s initial email had me giggling right off the bat when she said ‘they met in med school, like two well behaved nerds.’ Nerd-schmerd. These two are the loveliest couple. Attractive, intelligent, ambitious, AND in love. They didn’t start dating until after a medical mission trip they both took to Nicaragua.
Tom and Cynthia both have apartments downtown so I wasn’t surprised that they wanted to meet first at the Detroit Institute of Arts. We later migrated to Belle Isle which is where Tom popped the question while going for a walk near the lighthouse. The Belle Isle conservatory is a favorite for both of them. Cynthia’s excitement was palpable when we entered to shoot part of their session there. It was quite a warm day and they were both troopers and so patient while shooting and dealing with the warm air. I am excited to share their adorable personalities and pretty portraits!
I can’t wait for their fall wedding at Planterra!
