From the moment Karli and I arrived in Charlevoix, we knew this weekend would be one to remember. The air was filled with laughter, lake breezes, and the kind of anticipation that only comes from people who have waited years for a day like this.
Courtney and Gerald’s wedding weekend began with a vineyard welcome party at Lost Cellars. It set the tone perfectly, warm, connected, and full of joy. By the time we arrived at Castle Farms the next day, the energy was electric.
Courtney and her bridesmaids got ready in a charming Airbnb just minutes from the venue. Music played, laughter filled the room, and at one point, YouTube tutorials were pulled up for a quick refresher on line dances. Their niece and nephew added the sweetest touch. Parker helped me with flat lays, while her twin brother followed Karli around with wide-eyed curiosity.
Meanwhile, Gerald and the guys were across town, starting their morning with a fresh fade from his barber. His custom emerald tux from Suitbar Clothier turned heads the moment he put it on. Later, at the ceremony, Gerald would have a moment all his own when the first notes hit for his aisle song and he stepped out PROUD. He and Courtney waited a long time for that moment. Inside the lining, of his custom tux, was a collage of photos capturing their love story. A detail that perfectly captured his thoughtfulness.
Castle Farms in Charlevoix is a dream location, historic stone architecture, romantic arches, and manicured formal gardens that feel straight out of Europe. But what makes it truly special is how each couple transforms it into their own story.
Gerald and Courtney exchanged vows surrounded by friends, family, and their beloved dog, Koda, who walked proudly down the aisle. Did you know that dogs can actually smile? Koda does! Their ceremony was heartfelt and intimate, a blend of laughter, quiet tears, and personal vows filled with promises for the future.
Every look between them spoke volumes. Gerald’s steady confidence. Courtney’s radiance. The kind of love that feels both grounded and electric. They quite literally can’t keep their hands off each other.
When the reception began, so did the magic. A+ Entertains brought down the house with music that kept everyone on their feet from start to finish.
The dance floor turned into a scene straight from a music video, friends lifting the couple over their heads, a Soul Train line that stretched across the room, and the kind of energy that makes you forget time. This was not a wedding where people held back. It was a celebration of joy, love, and community.
Courtney’s gown from The Wedding Shoppe was modern elegance at its finest, clean lines, structured fabric, and a touch of understated glam. Her makeup and hair by Viva La Glam enhanced her natural beauty perfectly. Courtney is absolutely radiant every day and her wedding was no exception.
Touches of green and gold echoed throughout the day, complementing Gerald’s tux and the natural tones of the venue. Their cake by Tessa Mae’s Bakery was as artful as it was delicious, and every floral detail added softness to the castle’s grandeur.
Courtney and Gerald first met eight years ago during a night out with friends. One glance across the room changed everything.
When they describe each other, their words say it all. Gerald calls Courtney thoughtful, smart, and endlessly caring. Courtney says Gerald is hilarious, driven, and has one of the biggest hearts she’s ever known.
Their vows echoed those same qualities, full of humor, honesty, and the quiet strength that defines lasting love.
This wedding was a masterclass in joy. Every detail felt intentional. Every laugh came from the heart. Every dance told a story.
If you’re planning a celebration that reflects your connection more than your checklist, take a page from Courtney and Gerald’s day. Because when love leads, everything else falls perfectly into place.
