A stylish navy and sage fall Royal Park wedding at the recently remodeled Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, Michigan. Photographed by Kari Dawson + Co, this celebration featured a travel-loving bride, a loyal groom with his son and daughter by his side, and a warm Texas-meets-Michigan love story.

When I met Emma and Matt, their story immediately stood out. They met at a barbecue contest in Kansas, and what followed was a connection that blended Texas boots, Michigan roots, and a new life filled with family. On a crisp October Sunday at the newly remodeled Royal Park Hotel, the day felt golden and alive. The air carried that distinct balance between summer warmth and autumn’s soft coolness.
Emma radiates energy and openness. She has a way of making everyone around her feel comfortable and seen. Matt is loyal and thoughtful, always tuned into the people he loves. His son carried the rings with quiet pride, and his daughter walked hand-in-hand with him down the aisle. This wedding wasn’t just about two people joining together. It was about a family becoming one.
The sage patterned bridesmaid dresses, the navy tuxes, the cowboy hats, and the boots all came together with effortless style. It was a celebration grounded in family, friendship, and love. Every detail reflected who they are.

The Royal Park Hotel recently underwent a beautiful remodel. The space now feels even more elevated, with a blend of modern sophistication and welcoming warmth. The formal garden, indoor conservatory, and refreshed guest rooms make it ideal for couples who want beauty and comfort in one place. The newly redesigned interiors are perfect for portraits and candid moments filled with natural light.
For Emma and Matt, the venue offered the best of both worlds. It reflected their love of travel and their connection to home. Their wedding felt polished yet personal, surrounded by timeless architecture and lush greenery.

Matt’s navy tux and white cowboy hat perfectly captured the blend of city elegance and southern charm. The bridesmaids wore sage satin dresses that shimmered softly in the afternoon light. The florals from Viviano Flower Shop added depth and romance with dark blooms and natural texture.
One of my favorite moments happened during the ceremony. Matt’s son, who served as the ring bearer, walked forward with calm confidence, followed by his smiling sister. It was a moment that captured everything this family represents, unity, joy, and new beginnings.
Throughout the day, Emma and Matt shared small, meaningful glances. They balance one another beautifully. Emma values Matt’s steady communication. Matt treasures Emma’s humor and the way she fills every space with laughter. Together, they’ve created a love that feels effortless and true.

After the ceremony, celebration came easy. Guests filled the ballroom with laughter, raising cowboy hats and champagne glasses alike. Olive and sage greenery, navy accents, and gold details tied the design together with understated sophistication. The cake, created by Home Bakery, drew admiration from everyone in the room. Simple, modern, and artfully adorned with greenery, it matched the refined atmosphere of the day.
As the evening unfolded, guests moved between the ballroom and the courtyard under glowing string lights. The dance floor filled quickly, and the sound of laughter echoed late into the night. Music from Elite Wedding Co kept the energy alive. It was a perfect close to a day that honored not just a marriage, but a new family’s beginning.

If you’re drawn to venues with timeless architecture and garden charm, you’ll love this Macedonian wedding at Lovett Hall — another heartfelt celebration that perfectly blended tradition, design, and family connection.
