Wedding weekend…
A few days before Megan and Tevyn’s Traverse City wedding they flew into Northern Michigan from their current home state of Washington. When I asked about their travel I expected an uneventful experience. I was surprised to hear they actually had to trek most of the way from the airport to their hotel on foot. They landed in a tourist town after 5:00 pm where Uber and Lyft aren’t currently available due to the Pandemic. Even the taxis were closed. As you can guess, this was not how they planned to start off their wedding weekend! Fortunately that was the only hiccup.
Their immediate families and closest friends joined them in Traverse City a few days before the wedding. They enjoyed outdoor eats, drinks on the beach, and plenty of sunshine and relaxation. What a perfectly chill way to prepare for a wedding.
Their elopement…
If you saw Tevyn and Megan’s recent engagement session at MSU you already know that their big wedding has been moved to next year. I was so thrilled when these two made the decision to marry on their original date anyway. And who doesn’t love a road trip to Northern Michigan? Megan spent the morning doing her own hair and makeup while Tevyn, a Lego enthusiast, assembled the most appropriate Lego wedding chapel.
Freshly minted invitations perfect for their beach wedding were assembled. Their vows were written. The bouquet flowers were plucked and wrapped with care. And the rings were snuggly tucked into a velvet Mrs Box. Megan’s floor length wedding dress was perfect for the beach. As were her baby blue sandals. Even her jewelry, originally planned for a completely different dress, came together beautifully. Soft curls blew in the breeze along with her dress as she and Tevyn made their way hand in hand for their ceremony. Surrounded by their closest friends and family the view was stunning and their elopement was perfect.
They wrapped up a lovely ceremony with a little champagne and a casual meal on the beach. I can’t think of a better way for Megan and Tevyn to have become Mr and Mrs. Sharing a quiet morning together, an intimate ceremony with their favorite people, a few ‘we’re married’ photos, and lunch on the beach while sipping champagne!
