Downtown Detroit engagement photos in Detroit, Michigan provided by Kari Dawson top-rated Detroit engagement and wedding photographer, and her team.
Sarah and Patrick’s downtown detroit engagement photos were captured on a perfect summer night. We started out fancy at the Detroit Institute of Arts. After that we headed over to the Belt and Z Lot parking garage. As they were changing outfits I watched the sun begin to sink in the sky. Consequently, we hurried up to the top deck and dabbled in the sun until it was tucked behind the downtown high rises.
I am really excited to see how everything comes together at the War Memorial this December for their magical winter wedding. I have already enjoyed the planning stages with Sarah and even Sarah’s mom hopped on the phone with us.
I especially loved getting to know them while we gallivanted around Detroit. Hearing about their restaurant adventures. Working together, then not working together, good idea… amiright? They provide a perfect balance to each other’s personalities which was such a pleasure to witness. Can’t wait to see you both in December!!!

[…] For this particular wedding day the couple, their wedding party and family were permitted to enter before the museum closed to the public for the day. They were provided a private space for any preparations that continued before being allowed access to the ceremony and reception spaces. The coordinators on staff are so incredibly kind and guide you in and out of the building providing access to the areas you are permitted to work in. Only the couple is permitted within the galleries and indoor spaces of the museum so we got started near the back steps of the John R entrance with the wedding party. While the personal photos of this particular wedding day are private you can get an idea of how I use the outdoor spaces HERE, HERE and HERE. […]
