I have been looking forward to Alexa and Mike’s lilac and navy Detroit Athletic Club wedding since Alexa first reached out last year. Alexa stood up in her sister, Marissa’s wedding four years ago. I always love, love when I get to see familiar faces and work again with families I adore. Not only did I love seeing Alexa again along with the rest of her family, I truly loved spending the day with Mike and his family, too.

Alexa and I have been connected through Instagram through the entire planning process. It has been so fun watching her behind the scenes. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is also so bright and so funny and always up for ANY challenge. Hopping on a scooter in Detroit mid-wedding party photos for instance. It was so great!

Their style…

This might be the tallest set of groomsman I have ever worked with. I do realize that isn’t saying a whole lot because I am quite short. But as I pinned boutonnieres on all the guys I was feeling particularly short. They all looked so dapper in their clean menswear and face socks. Yes, Face socks. You have to see below!! The six ladies wore three different style bridesmaid dresses that were so flattering on each one. This is one beautiful wedding party!!

It’s the intimate details that I always love most through each wedding day. The way Mike paced the boardroom to prevent his nerves from getting the best of him. Tears that Alexa and Mike both shed during the ceremony even after a first look. The tight squeezes and belly laughs among sisters. The same day video edit provided by Simply Love Films that had Alexa out of her chair with excitement. And the way Mike looked at her after seeing a tender moment from earlier in their wedding day.

Alexa and Mike, I adore you both, I adore your families, and I have had SO much fun getting to know you both along the way. May your wedding day be the day you loved each other the least. xoxo – Kari
