As the grandparents started the processional off, the left side of the ceremony began to applaud. Soon, all of Cassie and Jonathan’s guests began to applaud. They continued as Jonathan, their beloved dog Great Gatsby, and the groomsman made their way out. And the room really went wild as Cassie made her way down the aisle with her father. I have never experienced anything like it and totally cried behind my camera. Cassie and Jonathan’s coral and gray College for Creative Studies summer wedding in Detroit really kicked off with a bang!

My favorite thing about their day was watching the exchange of banter, wit, whispers of encouragement, scrunched up noses laughter, and even a few quirks here and there. Proceed to the photos for a solid example. You’ll know it when you see it.

Jonathan and Cassie’s wedding was so much about them and the people they chose to celebrate with. It was about family that traveled from Ireland. It was about the bridesmaid’s private party and the banter from the groomsman that was unleashed on Jonathan. The details simply did not matter. Don’t worry, photos were made of those things, too but this love and these people were the only thing that mattered. Is there really a better head space to be than that on your wedding day? Followed by a completely off the grid honeymoon? No, these two did it right!!
