A few things immediately connected me to Kristen and Brett when we first started chatting about their Birmingham Community House Wedding. First, I simply adore the Community House! Brett found me; I love an involved groom. I also loved that they were planning an outdoor ceremony in October. Finally, among other things, they were planning to keep their celebration as intimate as possible.

Throughout the planning stages, Kristen and Brett continued to be as intentional as possible in terms of ensuring they had enough time carved out to enjoy the day and take it all in. They wanted to maximize the time they shared with family and those they asked to stand with them for the day. They opted for a first look to maximize the amount of time they spent together on their wedding day, too. Even though they shared vows during the ceremony, they each took time during their first look to read a few special words, privately, that they wrote for each other. I think they’ll agree with me when I say the only thing missing was their pup Finley!

Stylistically their wedding day looked exactly how I would likely replan my own wedding. Brett and his groomsman looked so frickn’ sharp in their navy tuxedos with a black lapel, bowties, fun socks (these are a must), and boutonnieres that were the perfect pop of color for the season.

Kristen’s silhouette, belted lace wedding dress, veil, and dainty wedding day pump were all so classic and true perfection on her. I absolutely love an Adrianna Papell dress which I usually see in blush, gold or cream tones really won me over when I saw the same designs I really love in cranberry. With sequins. And mismatched dresses. Such a good color palette.

There was so much laughter and joy among a few emotional tears. It was truly an intimate celebration of two people so excited to begin forever together! Welcome to the Married Couple’s Club, Kristen + Brett!! I wish you all the happiness for many years to come!!
