I asked Rachel how she and Kyle met and she responded with “we met where all true love begins… Tinder! He super liked me and the rest is history.” She made me actually laugh out loud. I truly believe we all have people that are meant to be in our lives and the inner workings never quit until we are brought together, even if it is through Tinder. Or Coffee Meets Bagel. Or Match. Or Pint Night at your local pub. I’m never surprised to hear fresh stories of how two people met and fell in love.
For their engagement session, we wandered the parks and the streets of downtown Fenton where they met for not just their first date but for many dates thereafter. It was sunny and romantic and nostalgic.
I asked them to remind me how the proposal went down. They first popped in for a visit with Rachel’s grandmother where Kyle slyly showed the ring to Grandma after Rachel left the room. Let me just pause a second and applaud these adult grandchildren for making time for their grandparents! It’s a lost art. Moving along… Rachel thought it a little odd that Kyle used the GPS to get back home but they actually ended up at Lake Park in Brighton which happens to be the very place Kyle first asked Rachel to be his official girlfriend. The snow was falling all around them and Kyle got down on one knee and said: “In this spot, you made me the happiest man by agreeing to be my girlfriend, and now I’m asking you to make me the happiest man again.” Their smiles and their happiness are contagious!! I am so, so excited to be part of their wedding at Noah’s this fall!!
