Grosse Point Yacht Club Wedding…

Grosse Pointe Yacht Club weddings are always among my favorites. I absolutely love being on the water. As members, choosing the yacht club for their wedding day, it is no secret the water is their happy place, too. The upper rooms off the ballroom dedicated for getting ready are just as stunning and charming as the ballroom itself. The view on the water combined with the outdoor architecture is equally as lovely. Leigh and Danielle got to enjoy every nook and cranny on their wedding day. The weather was so beautiful for a late September afternoon so their ceremony was held outside. We captured their family photographs in the stunning circular lobby that leads to the ballroom. Fun fact: if you pause on the stairway at the second or third stair you can hear the echo of the fountain coming from overhead. But my favorite part of Dani and Leigh’s day was the classic car! You have to scroll to see. Dani and Leigh enjoyed working the classic as much as I did.

Their style…

You might remember their summer engagement session that I captured right in their own backyard. That was another stunning evening with a gorgeous sunset just beyond the boat they have anchored at their home. I loved the Adrianna Papell dress that Danielle wore for their engagement session and knew that their classic style was going to be flawless when combined with the yacht club. Danielle’s wedding dress was a classic silhouette with modern features combined with a stunning updo made complete with a crystal hairpiece and blusher veil. The invitations were timeless. The florals were simple, romantic and classic with almost all florals being lush greenery and cream roses. All except for Danielle’s bridal bouquet which was a stunning pop of cranberry color. You know I love grooms and groomsman in classic black tuxedos. And the ladies looked incredible in their chic navy full length dresses.

All of the arched windows and doorways at the yacht club really enhance the look of every space. When Danielle and Leigh came up the stairs into the ballroom during their grand entrance it was so beautiful to see them enter the space through the vast arch opening. One of my favorite moments is watching Leigh dance with his bride with them and the band centered in front of the giant arched window that centers the space. The evening toasts before dinner were charming and had everyone laughing. Danielle’s dad got to have his dance with his girl. And the band kicked off the rest of the night and had everyone on their feet.
