Winter Lovett Hall Wedding…

Giavanna + Balin celebrated their winter Lovett Hall wedding day this January amongst the iconic backdrops of a historical church in Detroit and Lovett Hall at Greenfield Village. Ava shared a few ‘inspiration’ photos with me leading up the final weeks before their wedding. I knew from the inspiration photos that the details were going to be epic.

Their style…

Ava’s sense of personal style is classic overall with every outfit having at least one element that is either unique or feminine in nature. Pulling her wedding day details together for her lay flats was so much fun to discover a similar pattern. Very classic colors and details combined with a hint or two of elements that are unique to Ava and particularly feminine. These elements could be found in the florals Ava wore in her hair. The unique clutch that housed her wedding day lipstick. And, her bridal shoes with an epic heel. So fun to see how Ava pulled her specific interests and made them bridal while staying true to her sense of style.

Churches, florals, vintage cars…

Then Balin rolled up in his navy tuxedo and the full color palette for their wedding day came into focus. Inside the historical St Hedwig church the center aisle of the pews were lined with dozens of floral centerpieces. The only people who used the center aisle were those in the processional along with the bride and groom. St Hedwig is the Polish patron saint of weddings which was a fascinating discovery for me but a very intentional choice for Balin and Ava. The backdrop of the church was iconic while being the perfect fit for this lovely couple and Ava’s cathedral veil worn as a cape. The exterior of the church was equally as magical. We had a blast posing Balin and Ava with their teal vintage car. If you own or are thinking of renting a vintage vehicle for your own wedding…. do it. You won’t regret it.

The venue…

As guests began to make their way to Lovett Hall for cocktail hour the couple joined me and their wedding party to frolic in the Henry Ford Museum for portraits. Every nook and cranny of the museum and Lovett Hall both are full of stunning areas for photos inside and out. In milder weather, dedicated time inside Greenfield Village also proves to be valuable as it also offers countless options for your romantic wedding day portraits.

Mr + Mrs….

With the high emotions of the day behind them, Ava and Balin embraced their guests at cocktail hour and kicked off the start of an incredible evening as husband and wife. Balin and Ava, it has been such a pleasure to be on this journey while getting to know you both along the way. The celebration may be over but these memories will encapsulate the whole range of emotions you both experience as you said ‘I do’ and celebrated surrounded by those who love you most.
