Their story…

Sarah spotted Byron during one of his band performances. Acoustic guitar in hand. Sarah sent Byron a Facebook friend request the next day. They grew up in the same Iowa town and attended the University of Northern Iowa together. In a unique twist of events, Byron’s family began relocating to Michigan. Sarah’s father would ultimately move to Michigan also during her college years. But Byron’s work took them to Los Amos, New Mexico where they shared two years together. We initially connected with a telephone call and began the planning stages from different states. Sarah and Byron have since relocated to Michigan, with their cute kitty Gibson, while Byron is attending the University of Michigan.

Their session…

We met outside the Arboretum in Ann Arbor where we wandered the paths and talked. We talked about their story, wedding, and interests. The sun filtered beautifully through the trees as they snuggled up along the dirt paths. We spent a few minutes taking advantage of the gorgeous setting sun behind a building or two on campus. And finally wrapped things up in the peony garden just inside of the Arboretum. The peonies might not be in bloom but the other flower beds are so lovely. And we got a kick out of the little Troll Garden.

Byron and Sarah both have a quiet air about them that I can both appreciate and relate to. They speak volumes to each other with their eyes and body language. And you can see through their interactions just how comfortable and safe they are in each other’s company. When you truly know someone, you don’t have to worry about conversation, or activities, or filling the void. You can just BE. And for Byron and Sarah, just being together IS their favorite thing to do.
