The hotel suite…
I was greeted at the hotel suite door by Rebecca’s sister Kate who called for Rebecca in a sing-song voice of ‘baaaabbbby’. I thought surely, Rebecca is the younger sister and that is why Kate calls her ‘baby’. But no, it’s just the most endearing nickname they both have for each other. And they answer to it. Often, it’s the only thing one of them will answer to and it was so charming. The suite was buzzing with fun energy as the girls ate lunch. Their bridesmaid dresses were steamed and I started to style Rebecca’s details.
Rebecca’s details…
Tieks are a wedding photographer’s secret dream shoe and Rebecca was wise to grab a pair in a champagne color so she would be comfortable all day. Doesn’t hurt that the teal bottom served as her cute something blue. Her dress, veil, earrings and delicate necklace, she received from Jason on their wedding day, were all so classic and elegant. The Royal Park Hotel was the perfect backdrop for their black tie wedding where all the details were champagne. Simple and classic yet so very elegant.
Rebecca + Jason…
I met Rebecca for a consult at the Royal Park Hotel, discovered my favorite red wine that night and now have a case of it in the wine rack in my basement. Well, there was a case at one point anyway. I met her parents during her engagement session when they brought the pups in for their photo op. You can see their Rochester Park Engagement Session, here. In two short hours I realized Rebecca is genuinely happy. Her smile is contagious. Her life with Jason was predestined. And he is smitten as can be of her.
Rebecca and Jason are great people and so are their families. The kind that make you feel better for knowing them. As the Father during their mass put it, ‘the kind of great people that cause good people to do great things.’ I paraphrased right there. Jason, Rebecca and their families extended such a warm welcome and took turns checking on us throughout the wedding day to ensure that we were doing well, feeling energized and ensuring we didn’t need anything. They each have an uncanny way of making you feel like you’re the only person that matters.
Royal Park Hotel…
The staff at the Royal Park Hotel did an amazing job making sure every need was met and served the most delicious meal. During the toasts Rebecca’s father talked about Rebecca’s ever constant positive outlook. His thankfulness along with the unique scenario that the marriage of Rebecca and Jason made him and his wife family with their very best friends. He made mention of a few simple things we should hold dear that we many times take for granted including, being an American. Not once in nearly 100 weddings has anyone ever reminded us to be thankful for this amazing country we live in and the freedoms and priviledge we all enjoy every day.
Jason and Rebecca, it has been such a joy getting to know you both and a true honor to have been invited to tell your love story. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you Ferry and Rewold families for such a warm welcome and genuine care. Enjoy!
