Kelcie and Noelle’s lush Planterra Conservatory wedding was the kind of day that feels like a deep breath and a long-awaited embrace. They began the morning in separate suites at the Daxton Hotel in Birmingham, getting ready just floors apart, but keeping their dresses secret until the moment they saw each other.
Noelle’s look was modern and bold, paired with a sleek updo and her grandmother’s bracelet—a gift passed down with story and sentiment. Kelcie chose a more traditional silhouette with soft pearl details. Somehow, without planning it, both brides wore pearls. A perfect reflection of their harmony.
They shared a private first look on the Daxton balcony while their entire wedding party peered through every window in the suite behind them, tearing up as they watched. It was emotional. Pure. Honest.
A vintage Bentley swept them away from Birmingham to their lush Planterra Conservatory wedding. A lush, green glasshouse that felt alive with love. Their ceremony began with a Ketubah signing, a beautiful nod to tradition, before their friend (and matchmaker) officiated their vows.
Their wedding party struck the perfect tone for this black-tie affair. Bridesmaids in sage green melted into the landscape of the conservatory while the bridesmen anchored the group in crisp black tuxedos. The balance was striking. Natural but elevated.
Their unstructured bouquets featured soft pinks, ivory petals, and wisps of wild greenery. It felt like spring arranged just for them.
The reception details were equally thoughtful. A literal cheese-cake (yes, wheels of cheese stacked like a cake) welcomed guests alongside an abundant charcuterie table. Their ‘naked cake’ stood quietly beautiful near the dance floor.
Every part of this Planterra Conservatory wedding felt personal. From the choice of music to the curated guest experience. Kelcie and Noelle moved to Detroit from New York while Kelcie finishes her master’s degree at the University of Michigan. They’re both huge sports fans (go Lions!), and seasoned travelers. But more than anything, they’re grounded by their people.
Their wedding was full of happy tears, personal touches, and celebration with the ones who have loved them through every season.
