Getting ready…

Before my team and I even left the suites at the hotel it was very evident that Jacob and Isabella are surrounded by the most loving family and friends. There were so many happy tears throughout their entire wedding day. I love that they chose a color scheme perfect for fall. The bridesmaids looked so incredible in their floor length mossy green bridesmaid dresses. And the guys were so sharp in classic black. Their invitation suite and paper products were clean and classic with just a pop of green. They chose to keep the florals classic and elegant in shades of creams and green which looked outstanding in the iconic ballroom at the Colony Club. There are a lot of moving parts and location changes for most Detroit weddings but I always just love the change in scenery and the variety it can add to your wedding photos.

Ceremony…

Bella and Jacob were married in the historic Old St Mary’s Catholic church in downtown Detroit. The service was beautifully performed and before long guests were gathered outside waiting on a fun exit with the newlyweds before riding off with Motor City. Two words: vintage car. If you are planning your wedding and have considered renting a vintage vehicle… just do it. The added pizazz of a shiny classic car for your transportation and portraits during your classic wedding adds so much value, fun, and a unique twist to your special day. Kim and her father at Motor City Vintage Rentals are truly incredible to work with.

The iconic Colony Club…

When we arrived at the Colony Club cocktail hour was roaring; the echo of family and laughter spilling out as the doors were opened. As guests began to make their way to the main ballroom we wrapped up more portraits with Bella and Jacob within the stunning setting of the venue. The wedding party set the mood right with their grand entrance before guests were greeted by the newlyweds from the third floor balcony. The room was buzzing during toasts and entrees before giving way to an epic night on the dance floor.
