My inner photographer heart explodes this time of year as the summer begins to fade into fall. The crisp evenings make exploring and hiking for an engagement session so much more enjoyable. Bugs die off. Light gets that glowy look and feel. And eventually the green fades into bursts of colorful foliage.

I’m sure everyone is as tired of the rain as I happen to be. It can be a little disheartening when plans are made months in advance only to get spoiled by bad weather. Together we opted to bump their session and boy did we get lucky when we finally hit the fields of Stony Creek for Hallie and Grant’s romantic sunset engagement pictures.

Grant and Hallie’s session was made even more special with the addition of their pups Hunter and Ruger who are two of the most well behaved boys I have had in front of my camera. But as I tell all of my couples who plan to bring their fur-babies… even if they do misbehave I really don’t mind. It always works out.

If I had to choose just one word to describe my experience with Hallie and Grant so far, it would be JOY. So much joy and easy conversation and so much laughter!!! I am so excited to be on this journey with you guys and can’t wait for the big day at the Lapeer Country Club!
