It’s so wild to me that Elizabeth and Drew’s Meadow Brook Hall wedding is only the third wedding of 2020. But you know… world pandemic and all. Drew and Elizabeth are among the lucky few to have been able to pull this off. Their days began separately at a local hotel where they each had plenty of space to enjoy family and their wedding party safely. The perfect summer sunlight poured beautifully into each of their spaces.
An outdoor ceremony in Michigan can be unpredictable and stressful but these two didn’t have a care in the world. And there was no reason to. Even as the sun gave way to the clouds and the breeze picked up just a tad, the temperature remained comfortable and the sky dry. The rock garden was in full bloom as Elle made her way up the aisle. Her father beaming with pride along with her mom and Drew’s parents.
Drew and Elizabeth’s wedding stationary set the tone for how the rest of the colors and details would be pulled together. The mauves and blushes with a touch of pearl and the guys black tuxedos and even the mom’s dresses were all on point. Especially after adding the bouquets which really pulled everything together.
Tables in the open-air tent were draped in linens. Satin blush napkins and baby succulents were carefully placed for each guest. Glass and brass hurricane candle holders and bud vases full of lush roses and greenery completed each table.
After dinner, the evening was kicked off with Elizabeth and Drew’s first dance. Drew’s sister Audrey did a beautiful, beautiful job singing Can’t Help Falling in Love with You by Elvis. I may have personally teared up a bit because it’s also my wedding song. My 25th wedding anniversary was just ten days before Elle and Drew’s wedding and I know perfectly well the journey that they have set out for. Help me congratulate this beautiful couple and wish them the best for many, many years to come!!

You’ll feel calm on one of the most overwhelming days of your life. You’ll forget the camera was there. And later, you’ll hold photographs of moments you didn’t know were happening.
That’s because of who’s in the room. Kari has been photographing weddings since 2012. She’s the calm presence, the one your mom will find herself talking to. Karli is the one making your bridesmaids laugh and keeping the day on time.
We don’t divide and conquer. We’re in the same moment, Kari wide and Karli close, catching each other’s eye across the room when we see something worth keeping.
